Develop a Sense of Belonging and a Community of Support

Discover New Meaning in Shared Experiences

Unlike individual counseling, group therapy involves collaboration and connection between multiple people with similar struggles. Groups offer a safe, judgment-free space where clients can process their experiences, create support networks, and build a sense of community.

Group therapy also offers clients a unique opportunity to learn more about themselves through identification with others. In this way, groups can foster both external and internal connection, as individuals establish lasting supportive relationships as well as stronger self-awareness.

“Intensive group experience…is, I believe, one of our most successful modern inventions for dealing with the feeling of unreality, of impersonality, and of distance and separation that exists in so many people in our culture.”

Group Therapy FAQs

Group therapy sessions have a maximum of ten participants. These sessions are designed to help clients process issues with others that are experiencing similar struggles. We encourage clients to participate in whatever way is most comfortable for them, whether that is actively sharing or just listening.

The best group therapy sessions are not structured, meaning every session looks different. The main benefit of unstructured sessions is that they allow participants to generate and lead discussions rather than relying on educational handouts.

The group therapy environment requires open and honest communication and a willingness to participate. Group sessions are confidential. We ask that all participants keep what is shared in the room to themselves to help build trust and transparency.

We do not offer online group therapy. We believe the best group therapy comes when we are in the room together.

Group sessions last 90-120 minutes, depending on the group.
